glass beach - plastic death

What can you expect from a band you know only fleetingly by name and one bad cover of "Welcome To The Black Parade"? That's right, nothing. And that is great.

“Plastic Death” takes no time to warm up and hooks you with the very first song, dragging you into the depths of a beautiful world of reflection and isolation. Each composition has a certain layering and an attempt to build its own little story through melancholic undertones, revealing itself epically in the final minutes and seconds. Surprisingly, listening to the album, the meaning and appearance of the cover becomes clear. There is something about it - mythical, psychedelic and alluring.

The band mixed indie and almost all possible subgenres of rock, post-hardcore and emo. It would seem like overkill, but surprisingly, it works almost everywhere. I admit honestly - I’m not a big fan of post-hardcore and I’m unlikely to turn it on in my free time, but I’ll soberly appreciate it within the framework of an album where it’s used accurately and wisely. But here everything was done almost delicately, without oversaturating the record and leaving it room to breathe and not be so pushy and loud. My favorites were "Commatose", "Coelacanth", "200" and "Whalefall".

Glass Beach presented interesting, deep work, made with great passion and desire to create. I think they will receive appropriate feedback from music lovers.
